Muhammad Ali - 50 Years of Memorabilia, Autographs, Posters and more by Kevin Conway
USA TODAY, the nation's top-selling print newspaper, has published a 64-page, a special edition entitled "Ali: Celebrating 50 years on the world stage." The special edition honors the anniversary of a young Cassius Clay's 1960 Olympic gold win, follows a 50-year career of athletic and personal greatness and examines what Muhammad Ali means to the world today in a series of personal essays from contributors including President Barack Obama.
Like many sports enthusiasts growing up in the 70's, Muhammad Ali was indeed a larger then life figure. Who can forget what was billed as the "Fight of the Century" between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, two undefeated fighters and considered the best there ever was. At that time I was intimidated by Ali and his "trash talking" style. But, as age and wisdom set in it became clear this man was far smarter then any ordinary boxer. Ali was a masterful self-promoter and the rest of the world would sit back, learn and try to emulate someone who would one day be voted as "Athlete of the Century". There are countless books, biographies and opinions written about this extraordinary man, so I won't regurgitate.
Soon I noticed a growing admiration for Ali. And, that admiration would evolve into a collecting passion for vintage boxing memorabilia, starting of course with Ali material. About 25 years ago I wrote Ali a letter. So, when a couple months later, when a response arrived you can imagine how magical of experience it was. Muhammad Ali, the greatest athlete of the 20th century taking the time to write back. Not, only that but he autographed and personally inscribed two photos and added about 10 signed Muslim pamphlets. And, unlike many celebrities Ali signs everything himself as he considers it at act that brings him one step closer to God. So, no one is allowed to sign his name on autograph requests (as he stated on 60 Minute interview with Morley Safer).
What is a boxing collectible or memorabilia?
Most boxing or Ali collectors, pursue autographed memorabilia like signed boxing photos, gloves and shoes. Then there are original fight posters, programs and ticket stubs. One of my earliest Ali pieces was an original ticket for the Ali vs Liston fight in 1965. But, fight posters are my favorite. They not only display some great artwork and graphics (such as the Leroy Neiman Ali-Frazier fight poster) but they are evidence of sports history, placing us back in time when that exciting event occurred. But, the most popular memorabilia overall is probably autographed memorabilia, because here is an item that was held in the hands of and signed by the admired celebrity. A moment of his or her time captured on paper or a photo.
Here can someone acquire such valuable memorabilia?
Many people turn to online auctions like eBay. However, there is one BIG rsik to that strategy. MOST of the autographed items on eBay are fake. It is estimated about 90% of all autographs on eBay are secretarial or outright forgeries. And, these are usually the items that sell cheaply on eBay because those who have the expertise to KNOW what is real and what is fake, are NOT the ones bidding on fake material. Two autograph authentication organizations PSA and JSA are considered the most reputable third party authentication services. Most of the reputable auction houses and dealers use one of these companies. And, when their COA is attached to an autographed piece you will most certainly see it sell for much more than the same kind of item without one. And, this does not include any dealer or seller COAs as even autograph forgers provide COAs because eBay requires it.
COAs are worthless unless they are from a reputable dealer who offers a lifetime guarantee of authenticity, which eBay forgers cannot do because they usually won't be around long enough for you to return the items. Look for reputable dealers that offer lifetime guarantees and have been around for at least five years. Also, does the web site have REAL testimonials, not the "fake" testimonials with only initials of supposed customers. And, when you see an item that should sell for $500 being sold online for $100, a red flag should go up. There are a couple of web sites that sell forgeries for a small fraction of what an authentic piece would sell for.
Do your homework, be vigilant and in the end own a piece of history, like a stunning photo of Muhammad Ali, the Athlete of the Century, hanging on your wall.

"
There are not going to be a lot of folks that want anything to do with the Colts in sport betting on Thursday evening after what happened to them last week.
Last week was embarrassing as they permitted 59 points to Green Bay, and the Colts don't win much in the preseason in any case. Making an NFL bet on the Colts in the preseason has been a quick way to lose cash.
NFL wagering numbers will likely like the Bengals in this match basically because the Colts are so awful in the preseason. And this is not really new. In the regular season they turn it on and do just fine, even though it seems the Colts lose all the time in the preseason.
Bengals Backups vs Colts Backups: This is the fifth preseason game for the Bengals when betting football since they played in the Hall of Fame Game and it's the 4th preseason game for the Colts. Neither squad is planning to use their starters very long, if at all. The game is all about the backups. When it comes to backup participants the Colts are basically not very good. Backup quarterback Curtis Painter has been dreadful in the preseason and he will most likely get the majority of the snaps on Thursday. Last week he was 6 of eleven with an interception. His quarterback rating was 46.4. As JT O'Sullivan has played well, at least the Bengals have a quality backup to Carson Palmer. Even third string quarterback Jordan Palmer is better than Painter. If the Colts were playing Peyton Manning and the starters then they would be worth a look but lacking the starters, the Colts are basically a poor football squad.
Anyone Enthusiastic: Will there be any motivation for either of these teams? The Cincinnati Bengals have performed 4 games already. They only want to get out of this match and go home since they've got nothing to prove. The Colts backups most likely do have some motivation to play better but after last week's catastrophe, gamblers are not going to want to take them. The value in this game is on the Colts yet do you really want to place a NFL bet at online sportsbook on a Colts squad that is 9-23 in the preseason since 2004?

The NFL Sunday Ticket: Sports, When You Want It, Where You Want It by Thomas Jones
Cable TV restrictions are a thing of the past with Satellite TV's NFL Sunday Ticket; 24/7 sports coverage means all the games, all the time. And not just games, either; coaches' shows, memorable replays, press conferences, and Fantasy Football drafts are all a part of this great package. Follow all the offseason drama, with players returning from retirement, team cuts, and coach strategies in HD TV.
A must-have for any diehard sports fan, the NFL Sunday Ticket is an all-inclusive entertainment package offering the most up-to-date array of hot features. With coverage 24/7, you never have to worry about missing a game because a late night at the office cut into the cable tv schedule. Not just for Sundays, the NFL Sunday Ticket features complete sports coverage, any day of the week. Games, memorable replays, coaches' shows, press conferences, and Fantasy
Football drafts are all part of the exciting new offers.
With the NFL cutting down team rosters to 53 players, expectations are high, and tensions even higher. Super Bowl season kicked off this September with some surprising casualties, as Super Bowl hero David Tyree and Oakland Raider quarterback Jeff Garcia found themselves unexpected victims of roster downsizing. David Tyree shot into the spotlight 19 months ago with an unbelievable catch that lead the New York Giants to Super Bowl victory against the previously undefeated New England Patriots. Even this maneuver--which has become legendary in the world of sports--could not save him from the harsh fate of many other NFL greats this season. A pro-bowl quarterback four times over, Jeff Garcia was another notable loss, cut from his recently-signed one year contract with the Oakland Raiders along with 22 other players.
Not all news is bad news, however, as football fans gear up to track other exciting last-minute changes which signify a brand-new season of sports has begun on the new must-watch NFL Sunday Ticket. As management cinches in the proverbial team waistband, only the best survive. Trades and signing scrambles led to high-stakes drama, and a few sidelined players made full rebounds just in time for the fall season. Arguably the most talked-about move in the offseason was Brett Favre's return from retirement; take two. Having hundreds of games' experience in the position, leading both the Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets to victory before his second retirement in 2008. Is he the Minnesota Vikings' key ingredient for success? We'll have to wait and see on the NFL Sunday Ticket lineup.
It was not just players who generated buzz this offseason; coaches joined in the sports aficionado's commentary as well. Young and vibrant, the Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz is moving ahead from last year's crushing 0-14 losing streak with a forward-thinking, no-holds-barred approach. His weight-loss analogy exemplifies his dynamic ideas; taking on too much at once always lands you right back where you started. Cautions, but hopeful, moderation characterizes his 2009-2010 sports strategy. And sometimes, as time has often shown, slow and steady wins the race.
Regardless of your team or schedule preference, the NFL Sunday Ticket has something to offer. It makes a great gift for the sports fan in your life. Instead of afternoons of radio silence every time his favorite team is playing, you can bring the party home this all-inclusive sports package. It's a great excuse to invite friends and family to gather around for some food and fun, and now with 24/7 coverage, these festive gatherings can happen any time you want.

Gwinnett Gladiators Hockey by Pamela Haney
Hockey fans in the Atlanta area can enjoy some exciting action on the ice at Gwinnett Gladiators games. The Gladiators are the city's minor league hockey team. With the sale and departure of the NHL Atlanta Thrashers to Winnipeg earlier this year, the Gladiators are the only professional hockey team left in town.
The Gwinnett Gladiators play in the South Division of the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League), the premier AA hockey league. The team is an affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and the Phoenix Coyotes. The Gladiators were founded in 2003 and have made the playoffs six of their eight years. The team is based in Duluth, Georgia, in suburban Gwinnett County. They play their games at The Arena at Gwinnett Center, conveniently located 30 minutes northeast of downtown Atlanta off I-85 at Sugarloaf Parkway. The arena is a state of the art facility seating more than 11,000 fans.
The Gladiators began their ninth season with a new head coach, John Wroblewski. He is the second head coach in the team's history. Wroblewski had a four year career as a professional hockey player. He was most recently an assistant head coach with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.
At the halfway mark in the season, the Gladiators are leading their division. The Gladiators' schedule includes games against Greenville, Florida, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Trenton, and Chicago. There is plenty of hockey action left this season, and there are special promotions for some upcoming home games. Kroger Family Sundays include tickets and family meal deals at value prices. Friendly Fridays include tickets and food and beverage concessions. There are a variety of special giveaways on $ Frenzy Nights. Applebee's Power Play applies to all home games. When the Gladiators score in a power play situation, everyone at the game scores a Buy One Get One Free entree at Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grill. Fans just need to present their ticket stubs at the restaurant.
Gladiators hockey is great family entertainment. The games are exciting, with lots of fast moving action. Ticket prices are very affordable. Single game prices range from $11-$31, and fans can save $1 by ordering their tickets online. Official Gwinnett Gladiator team merchandise is available for purchase at all home games.
The Arena at Gwinnett Center is located at 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth, Georgia. It is adjacent to the Performing Arts Center and the Convention Center. Ample free parking is available onsite. Hockey season runs through April, so there is plenty of time left this season to enjoy a home game.

Taking A Look At The Biggest Sports Rivalries by Alfred Hernandez
From college football to Major League Baseball, rivalries between teams have always added excitement to fan experience. Many teams are old rivals, while others have developed a competitive intensity more recently. What teams have been fighting it out for some time? Rivalries are at the center of many fan's lives. Here's a quick look at some classic ones.
College football has some of the most talked about rivalries in all of sports. To begin with, you have the heated battles between the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners. Being in neighboring states, they compete for regional bragging rights and often the same recruits. Over the years, there have been many classic match-ups between the two teams.
One of the biggest rivalries in college football history is between Big 10 powerhouses Ohio State and Michigan. These teams, that are usually nationally ranked, are so well matched and competitive that the winner is often determined in the final minutes and sometimes the final seconds of the contest. Consequently, when these two teams play, the game often determines which remains in the National Championship picture and which is out.
The South features the tough competition between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers. From the days of Alabama's legendary coach Bear Bryant this has been one of the most talked about match-ups on the gridiron. Both schools are in the same state and are highly competitive with each other year in and year out. There have been many close, tight-knit games over the past century to prove it. The Tennessee Volunteers also have an active rivalry with these two teams but nothing compares to the legendary hard fought battles between the Tigers and the Crimson Tide.
On the west coast, there is the University of Southern California (USC) and the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) rivalry. This competition has been dominated recently by the success of Southern California and the strong teams they have produced over the last couple of years. Recently USC has taken to the field with Heisman Trophy winners Matt Leinhart and Reggie Bush, giving the Trojans the edge. This next year we may see a shift in power with UCLA coming to the forefront.
The National Basketball Association has had the classic battles of the Lakers and the Celtics. For decades these two teams fought back and forth to determine who would take home the NBA crown. There were the great match-ups in the 60's and 70's of Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell, which are legendary in the history of the NBA.
The 80's hosted memorable post-season contests between the Lakers' Magic Johnson and the Celtics' Larry Bird. Their respective teams, with Bird running the court and dishing off to Robert Parrish for a slam dunk or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar working the ball inside only to pass back to Johnson for three, produced some of the greatest moments in NBA history and will be talked about for decades to come.
The meetings between the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks produced another fine rivalry. Michael Jordon with his extreme athletic ability was the catalyst for tough contests in which the Knicks sometimes surprised the team from the Windy City; although the majority of the time Jordan and company were on the plus side in these contests.
Every season a tandem of college basketball teams always stand out as among two of the best in the nation. In North Carolina both on and off the court, one college basketball rivalry dominates the region. The University of North Carolina and Duke, both members of the highly competitive Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), are located only 8 miles apart. Both schools possess myriads of faithful fans that have traveled Tobacco Road year after year to see their teams fight for victory.
Since 1990, the two clubs have a combined for a total of eleven Final Four appearances. Those who follow the ACC certainly recognize the high profile contests that have defined their rivalry. The Duke Blue Devils and North Carolina Tar Heels are synonymous with big name games, some of which they have won and others they've lost.
Off the court, these two teams also battle it out by attempting to recruit some of the most talented players in the nation. The Tar Heels and Blue Devils often court the same players, with coaching staffs jousting with each other for the finest players available. NCAA National Championships are the hallmark of both these schools. If you enjoy excitement and hardcore college basketball at its best, Duke and UNC are your ticket.
In Major League Baseball, there is perhaps the greatest rivalry of all sports. The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox have battled each other on the diamond since the early twentieth century. The rivalry became heated in 1920 when the Red Sox sold the game's greatest player, Babe Ruth, to the New York Yankees. From that point on, the Yankees dominated the rest of Major League Baseball, going on to win 26 World Series; while Boston, after Ruth departed, was unable to capture a single crown.
Some people began to call Boston's championship drought the "curse of the Bambino." The trade of Babe Ruth, who was also known as the "Bambino," was supposedly the reason why Boston couldn't win a championship. But that all changed in 2004 when the Boston Red Sox were able to come back from three games down in the American League Championship Series and defeat the New York Yankees, and then go on to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series.
This was what Red Sox fans had been waiting for, and now they're hopeful that they will never have to hear about "the curse" again. This has been one heck of a rivalry over the years and odds are that it will continue to be one of the best in sports.
When there's an intense rivalry between two teams it's always magnified by fan enthusiasm. The fans are what make two teams want to compete harder against each other, but it takes exciting, hard-fought games to get the fans interested. Most great rivalries are not built on one or two good contests, but over decades of excellent games.
There is no set number of games that teams must play in order to generate a rivalry. The fans and players together are the ones who decide what makes an ongoing, classic rivalry. But one thing is for certain, there is nothing better than watching two, evenly matched rivals battle it out until only one is left standing.

Watch The Saints Go Marching In with High Definition. by Jon Jacobson
Sports are full of inspiring stories, many of them containing triumph over adversity. The kid who had never played before gets called up for the last game and hits the game-winning shot. The girl who breaks her ankle is carried across the finish line by her opponents. The team that tragically lost a team member wins the state title. Every sport has its own inspiring story, and it seems that every year provides us with another. In the NFL, the most inspiring story of the last year was the New Orleans Saints.
You want to talk about adversity, look at the history of the Saints. Since joining the NFL in 1967, the Saints have compiled one of the worst overall winning percentages in the history of the league. It took them almost a decade to have a.500 winning percentage in a season. It took them another decade before they ever had a winning record, another decade before they ever won a playoff game and another one before they went to the Super Bowl. During some especially dark years, fans called them the Aints because of their poor performance. Their proficiency at losing has made them one of the worst franchises in the league. Until now that is.
In 2010, the Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV to win them their first championship. Making it the top of the football world is difficult no matter what team you are, but with the history that the Saints have, it was even more improbable. The decades of losing had made the fans used to disappointment and they were just waiting for something to happen. This time though, there would not be any disappointment, as the Saints fought their way through the playoffs and eventually to the title of league champions.
Overcoming their horrendous history may be inspiring to Saints fans, but it's for another reason that many other people find their victory so heartwarming. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans and other parts of the Gulf Coast. Over 80% of the city was flooded and over 1,100 people died in the disaster. With the city in ruins, the Superdome- where the Saints play- opened up its doors and housed thousands of displaced people. The Saints were forced to play their home games elsewhere that season as the city tried to repair itself. Hurricane Katrina was one of the worst natural disasters ever to occur in the U.S., so for the Saints to win the Super Bowl after enduring that was especially inspiring.
The Saints look to defend their title this upcoming season and face some stiff competition. To watch them and all the other NFL teams, you need to get satellite TV with NFL Sunday Ticket. NFL Sunday Ticket lets you watch every single game all season long. Whether you're a Saints or a Giants fan, you can watch any game you want regardless of where you live. NEW YORK ? David Ortiz got more than even for getting drilled.
Ortiz broke loose soon after CC Sabathia hit him with a pitch, starting and finishing a seven-run burst in the seventh inning that led the Boston Red Sox over the Yankees 8-3 early Friday in a rain-delayed game that ended at 1:43 a.m.
When it was over, Ortiz seemed more angry at the media ? maybe for playing up the possibility of trouble between the teams ? than at Sabathia.
"Finally got hit," Ortiz said in a short rant that included some profanity.
After a wait of almost 3 1/2 hours, Josh Beckett (5-2) outpitched Sabathia (7-4) for the third time this season. The Red Sox outscored New York 25-13 while completing their second three-game sweep at Yankee Stadium in a month.
Only a few thousand fans were left in the ballpark when Boston wrapped up its sixth win in a row overall and beat the Yankees for the seventh straight time. The Red Sox are 8-1 against their longtime rivals this year.
"It's not how you wanted it to end tonight, it did and you've got to move on," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said.
A storm that brought lightning bolts over the Bronx delayed the start for 3 hours, 27 minutes. Shortly after the game began at 10:32 p.m., Beckett and Sabathia began zapping hitters, further ramping up baseball's most-spirited rivalry.
Plunked in the right thigh by Sabathia's 97 mph fastball in the fourth inning, Ortiz swung things in Boston's favor a little later. The Red Sox trailed 2-0 when he singled off Sabathia to start the seventh, and his two-run double off David Robertson capped the big rally.
"He feels good about himself, and he should," Boston manager Terry Francona said.
Bad blood seemed to be brewing from the get-go on a humid night. Ortiz appeared a likely target after homering in the first two games of the series ? he irked the Yankees by admiring one of those shots, which came after a brushback, and some in pinstripes talked about how Big Papi looked too comfortable at the plate.
Beckett had already hit Derek Jeter ? near the elbow, with his second pitch of the game ? and Alex Rodriguez around the hip when Ortiz came up in the fourth with one out and a runner on first.
Sabathia's first pitch was a heater that squarely nailed Ortiz.
"The ball just got away from me," the lefty ace said.
Plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt immediately pointed at both dugouts to issue warnings against further hostilities.
"I'm still trying to figure out whether David got hit for something I did," Beckett said.
Ortiz slowly walked to first base as the crowd chanted "CC! CC!" When the inning ended, Sabathia shot a glance toward the slugger before heading to the dugout, where his Yankees teammates met him with fist bumps, high fives, handshakes and back slaps.
"Jeter always gives me a pound after every inning," Sabathia explained.
To Yankees fans, perhaps it was long overdue. In his 15-season career, Ortiz had been hit by a pitch only once by the Yankees, that coming in the 2003 AL playoffs. Rodriguez, meanwhile, had been hit by Boston pitchers 14 times since joining New York the next year.
Curtis Granderson, who hit a two-run homer in the first inning, was clipped on the left foot by Beckett's breaking ball in the fifth. That plunking didn't cause any problems ? the three HBPs matched the most by an AL team this season.
Granderson launched his 18th home run right after Jeter was hit. Beckett had been 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 14 innings against the Yankees this season, outpitching Sabathia both times. Beckett threw four-hit ball over seven innings in this win.
Sabathia gave up Carl Crawford's single in the second, then didn't allow another hit until Ortiz singled in the seventh. Jed Lowrie followed with an RBI triple that snaked past right fielder Nick Swisher, Mike Cameron hit a tying double and Jacoby Ellsbury's single put Boston ahead 3-2.
Adrian Gonzalez hit an RBI single that finished Sabathia, Kevin Youkilis greeted Robertson with a run-scoring single and Ortiz doubled to deep left-center field. Gonzalez added an RBI single in the ninth.
The ballpark was fairly filled for the first pitch. During the delay, fans watched Game 5 of the NBA finals between Dallas and Miami on the videoboard, mostly jeering LeBron James and the Heat. There were cheers in the second inning, too, when the Yankees announced ticket stubs could be redeemed for a future free ticket.
Notes: Jeter singled for his 2,990th career hit. ... Yankees C Francisco Cervelli made his third throwing error in two games. ... Yankees DH Jorge Posada was back in the lineup. He was out Wednesday night because his son was having surgery for a skull condition. ... Lowrie started for the first time since Sunday. He'd been out with a sore left shoulder. ... RHP Phil Hughes (shoulder inflammation) threw a two-inning simulated game at the Yankees' complex in Tampa, Fla. He is set to start Tuesday for the Gulf Coast Yankees. ... Last month, the Red Sox lost to the Angels in a rain-delayed game at Fenway Park that ended at 2:45 a.m.
(This version CORRECTS Red Sox 8, Yankees 3. New approach. Corrects to 4th inning in 9th paragraph.)

Rays and Red Sox Square Off by Kevin Taylor
One of the most intriguing stories of last year?s Major League Baseball season was the Tampa Bay Rays.
The perennial doormat of the AL East, the Rays had a season for the ages, beating out perennial division power Boston Red Sox, for last year?s division title?Tampa Bay finished the regular season with a record of 97-65 while Boston finished second with a 95-67. Online sportsbooks had the Rays listed in the MLB future odds as longshots to win anything in 2008.
Boston and Tampa Bay went on to face one another in the AL championship series with the Rays once again prevailing, in seven games, for the AL pennant; the Rays would lose to the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series.
The two teams opened this year?s regular season with a four-game set at Fenway with one game being postponed and the Rays going 2-1 in the other three games.
Glancing at the standings today, it looks like as if the past is being revisited as Boston is sitting atop the division (tied with Toronto) with a 14-7 record while Tampa Bay is in the basement with a record of 8-14.
Starting today, the two will begin another four-game series, this time at Tampa Bay, with SPORTSBETTING.com listing both teams listed at -110 for tonight?s game and the Total set at 9.
One of the reasons for the Rays? current woes is their home record but while Tampa Bay is 2-5 at Tropicana Field this season, they have been far more profitable when hosting the Boston Red Sox going 13-7 SU and 8-12 O/U in the last 20 games against its division rival.
The BoSox will send Josh Beckett to the mound tonight and while the righty is 11-9 in his last 20 road games, his last six trips to Tampa Bay resulted in a 2-4 record SU and on the Over/Under. However, in Beckett?s last 10 Thursday road games, he is 7-3.
Meanwhile, the Rays will rely on Matt Garza on the mound tonight.
Garza?s home record in the last 20 games, like Beckett on the road, is 11-9 and he is an identical 8-12 O/U record in the same time.
Unlike Beckett, Garza has a winning record at home against the BoSox going 4-0 SU and 1-3 O/U.
The sports betting public are leaning to the Red Sox in this one, as early betting action has 68% of the volume landing on the crew from Beantown.
Game 2 goes Friday with righty Justin Masterson taking the mound for Boston and righty Andy Sonnanstine going for the home team.
When going up against right-handed pitchers, Boston has gone 12-8 in its last 20 games and 7-1 in its last eight.
Tampa Bay on the other hand, is Even Stephen in its last 20 games against right-handers, going 10-10.
Masterson is 7-4 in his last 11 games while Sonnanstine has dropped his last five games in a row and 0-4 on the Over/Under in his last four.
It will be right-hander Tim Wakefield?s turn in the rotation for Boston on Saturday and ditto for righty Jeff Niemann for Tampa Bay.
Wakefield is 3-4 in his last seven tilts at Tropicana Field and 0-4 in his last four; he has also gone 2-5 on the O/U in his last seven games in Tampa Bay.
Wakefield?s last eight Saturday games have produced a 6-2 record and 8-straight Overs.
Niemann is 3-3 in his last six and 2-4 on the Over/Under.
The rubber match goes Sunday and it will see Boston?s Brad Penny going against Tampa Bay?s James Shields.
Before signing with the BoSox, Penny pitched in the NL, so he hasn?t seen much action against the Rays; his lifetime record against Tampa Bay is 1-2.
Penny isn?t a profitable Sunday pitcher either, going 8-12 in his last 20 Sunday road games.
Shields isn?t much better against Boston at home either, going 2-5 in his last seven home games against the BoSox and he is 2-9 in his last 11 games against the Sox overall.
While it?s too early to tell if Boston and Tampa Bay will be battling out for the AL East division, this weekend?s series should still bring some drama.
Enjoy all the action and be sure to check out all the baseball lines at SPORTSBETTING.com
